Puzzles question 12
Five friends Arun, Bina, Chetan, Divya and Esha work in five different cities — Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Jaipur — and have 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 years of work experience (each a different number).
The person working in Chennai has the most experience.
Chetan has the least experience and works in Pune.
Arun has 2 years more experience than Chetan and does not work in Jaipur.
The person in Kolkata has more experience than Chetan but less than Arun.
Divya has more experience than Arun, and Bina has more experience than Divya.
Who works in Jaipur?
- Divya
- Arun
- Bina
- Esha
Answer and explanation
Answer: A. Divya
Explanation: Chetan = 1 year (Pune), Arun = 3. Divya > Arun and Bina > Divya give Divya = 4, Bina = 5, so Esha = 2. Kolkata's person has 2 years, so Esha is in Kolkata; Bina (5 years) is in Chennai. Arun is not in Jaipur, so Arun is in Delhi and Divya is in Jaipur.
