Puzzles question 30
Kunal, Lata, Manoj and Nisha have 3, 5, 7 and 9 chocolates, one number each. Kunal has more chocolates than Nisha. Lata has exactly 4 more chocolates than Manoj. Nisha does not have the fewest chocolates. How many chocolates does Nisha have?
- 5
- 7
- 3
- 9
Answer and explanation
Answer: A. 5
Explanation: Lata − Manoj = 4 allows (7, 3) or (9, 5). With (9, 5), Kunal and Nisha share 3 and 7; Nisha cannot have 3, so she has 7 and Kunal 3, but Kunal must have more than Nisha. So Lata 7, Manoj 3, and Kunal 9, Nisha 5.
