Time & Work question 28
2 men and 3 women can finish a task in 10 days, while 3 men and 2 women can finish it in 8 days. In how many days will 2 men and 1 woman finish it?
- 12 days
- 15 days
- 12 1/2 days
- 14 days
Answer and explanation
Answer: C. 12 1/2 days
Explanation: Let one man do m and one woman w per day: 2m + 3w = 1/10 and 3m + 2w = 1/8. Solving, m = 7/200 and w = 1/100. Then 2m + w = 16/200 = 2/25, so they need 25/2 = 12 1/2 days.
