Time & Work question 27
A, B and C can do a job alone in 15, 20 and 30 days respectively. All three start together; B leaves after 2 days, and C leaves 3 days before the job is completed. A works till the end. In how many days is the job completed?
- 12 days
- 11 days
- 9 days
- 10 days
Answer and explanation
Answer: D. 10 days
Explanation: Let the job take T days. Then T/15 + 2/20 + (T − 3)/30 = 1. Multiplying by 60: 4T + 6 + 2T − 6 = 60, so T = 10 days.
