Time & Work question 30
30 workers can complete a building job in 40 days. They start the work, but at the end of every 10 days, 3 workers leave. In how many days is the job completed?
- 45 days
- 50 days
- 48 days
- 52 days
Answer and explanation
Answer: B. 50 days
Explanation: Total work = 30 × 40 = 1,200 worker-days. Blocks of 10 days contribute 300, 270, 240, 210 and 180 worker-days, which add to exactly 1,200 after 5 blocks, i.e. 50 days.
